We are extremely excited to introduce our Little Prospects Youth League.  This league is designed for players of all skill levels and will be focused on developing players, providing an opportunity to learn about being a team player and to play on the 4 brand turf fields at the RecPlex!

Here are the league details:

All Leagues

• Dates:
  • Registration:  11/15/25-3/15/26
  • Evaluations / Practices: 5/1/26-5/18/26
  • Regular Season Game Play: 5/18/26 - 7/2/26
  • Playoffs (Only 9/10 Year Old and 11/12 Year Old League) - 7/6/26-7/15/26
• # of Games:
  • 2 Team Practices
  • 10 League Games plus Playoffs (playoffs only for 9/10 year old and 11/12 year old leagues)
  • Games are primarily on Weeknights Monday-Thursday at 5:30p or 7:30p at the RecPlex.  Teams may play up to 2 games on Saturday or Sunday.
• League Format:  
  • All players will complete a questionnaire about their playing experience and attend a skill evaluation.  From there we will work to build balanced competitive teams.  Skill evaluations will be done by Prospect Training Academy Staff.
  • Teams will be coached by volunteer coaches who will have access to Prospect Training Academy coaches training.
• What players get:
  • Players will get a team hat and uniform to keep.
  • All players in this league get 20% off of PTA Instructor Lead Camps at the RecPlex or our 13th St Facility in Oak Creek, WI.
• What players will need:
  • White baseball pants, Baseball Glove, Athletic Shoes or Molded Cleats
• Teams will have:
  • Helmets (players are welcome to bring and wear their own helmet)
  • Bats (players are welcome to use their own bats as long as they meet the bat restrictions outlined in the rules)
  • Catchers Gear (each team will have a set of catchers gear available, players are welcome to use their own)

League Specific Information:

7/8 Year Old - Machine Pitch

• Age Cutoff:  Must be 8 or younger on 8/31/26.
• Cost: $175 per player through 12/31/25, $200 per player after
• League Format:
  • Machine pitch from 40 ft 
  • Bases are 60'
  • Games are no new inning after 1 hour 30 minutes or 6 innings.
  • Innings are 3 outs
  • No lead offs or stealing except for passed balls
  • Players can only advance to home from 3rd base on a ball batted into play.

9/10 year Old - Kid Pitch

• Age Cutoff:  Must be 10 or younger on 8/31/26
• Cost: $175 per player through 12/31/25, $200 per player after
• League Format:
  • Kid pitch from 46 ft 
  • Bases are 65'
  • Games are no new inning after 1 hour 30 minutes or 6 innings.
  • Innings are 3 outs
  • No lead offs or stealing except for passed balls
• ALLSTARS - WE WILL SELECT 12 PLAYERS TO REPRESENT THIS DIVISION AND PLAY IN A TOURNAMENT AT THE RECPLEX ON 7/10/26 - 7/12/26 AT THE RECPLEX.

11/12 Year Old - Kid Pitch

• Age Cutoff:  Must be 12 or younger on 8/31/26
• Cost: $175 per player through 12/31/25, $200 per player after
• League Format
  • Kid pitch from 50 ft 
  • Bases are 70'
  • Games are no new inning after 1 hour 30 minutes or 6 innings.
  • Innings are 3 outs
  • No lead offs, but players can steal when the ball crosses the plate
• ALLSTARS - WE WILL SELECT 12 PLAYERS TO REPRESENT THIS DIVISION AND PLAY IN A TOURNAMENT AT THE RECPLEX ON 7/10/26 - 7/12/26 AT THE RECPLEX.

League Staff:

Coach Kenny Weimer, a Finlandia University alumnus, has been a PTA coach since 2023 and is our lead instructor at PTA South. Known for his passion for the game, Coach Weimer brings a modern approach to coaching, utilizing analytics to help players maximize their potential on the field.

Coach Aaron Simmons, a UW Steven’s Point alumnus, has been a PTA hitting coach since 2023. Simmons was a prolific power hitter at the collage level tallying over 40 homers in his 5 year college career. He is currently playing for the Schaumburg Boomers of the Frontier League.

Coach Eddie Schmitz, a UW Parkside alumnus, has been coaching for PTA South since 2023. Eddie has over 15 years of baseball coaching experience and is known for his care for the development of young athletes.
